Excellent! Hopefully that was the cause.

I've had some issues with some USB 3 ports not being "as backward compatible as they should be" with older devices. On some mainboards I've noticed some of the USB ports are made by different companies with different drivers, so that might be part of it. If I recall correctly maybe some mainboards even had some of the USB 3 by one manufacturer and some of the USB 3 by another manufacturer (front versus back ports, for instance).
