4. maybe better yet, have settable ranges for rate/pitch knobs. while i'd likely ocassionally use a larger range, more often i'd want a narrower one for more granularity. being able to set a min/max for the knobs might be useful here.
5. display option for knobs or sliders might be good. setting min/max range might be easier with sliders if it was done via a dropdown text entry box at either end of the scale.
