Just re-read this thread.
Did nobody stop to think that when you hit "insert virtual instrument in new track" it IS useful to know that you have DXi and VSTi and can tell which is which? This is just one example of when it IS useful to be able to differentiate between the various sorts of plugs.
Not wishing to detract from the FR etc., but just noting that there probably needs to be a level of sophistication in the "new" filtering system as requested.
