a) no, those are controls and not changeable in color. Only size is changeable via the "SCALE" slider in control properties.
b) parameters can be linked with "macros". To add macros go into the track-menu (key T) then under "other controls" drag in a "macro control". Now back in live-mode (key L) you can rightclick the macro to add controls to this macro.
