I would stick to Windows 7. I hated Windows 10, the look, the disorganization, the spyware, the forced updates. It's just a massive step in the wrong direction, and I don't want to support that.

I did not have any crashes, but my friend reported it was very unreliable for him. It did run smoothly enough, but i could not look at the ugly GUI for too long, never mind every working day!

If you have a modern machine you will probably need to modify the Windows 7 ISO to have USB3 drivers. Here is the tool:
