Drumagog had a solution which killed the machinegun and typewriter effects of the other triggers
I am thinking someone will make a JS plug that will take say the input from sstillwell's drums trig or reagate and then say send midi note a, next time send midi note B next time send midi note C, etc...
then different drum samples from the same drum can be put into a sample app that has cells (maybe a newer reasamplomatic). You could then send each track's midi to this thing, record its midi out and edit away...then when you were done, duplicate the track and "apply fx to selected takes" on its items and have a nice audio track without any edits
