I agree but the one drummer whom I saw go through it (roommates for 10 years) just did various rudiments in the book on a drum pad for 1/2 hour per day so I don't think there is a quicker method for developing the things you are wanting to improve per se. I can't say much more than that since I'm not going through it myself lol - I was thinking just a lesser version of practicing the rudiments.
