I realize now that my main focus is to have the best interface for the with the least amount of latency for the $1k range.
I'm using Reaper/DAW, reason 7, superior drummer, Amplitude 3 and Melodyne upgrading to ver.4.

Get a Babyface Pro for $750 and a Behringer 8 channel preamp for $100. That's 10 XLR inputs. Later you can upgrade to better pres.
