For anything other than academic purposes it is sadly irrelevant if making the changes results in a desired audial result.

Hopefully we are now realizing why many compressors' labeling tends to be "more/less/faster/slower" to begin with. As I hinted before, its musical content, trying to calculate what one expects to hear instead of just moving the slider until it sounds correct will quickly spiral into confusion and wasted time. And even if it all did match, it still takes a back seat to how it sounds. It matters no more than looking at a FFT graph to confirm if a mix sounds good.
