a thought or a question perhaps:

Chordino is maybe too good at chord recognition ... what I mean is this...

I'm talking here about using it in conjunction with Band in a Box wave files that have been brought into Reaper... much as MUSOBOB has illustrated...

Ok so we have some tracks... bass, elec. gtr, rhym gtr, piano, etc. and for the most part they are made in BB with Realtraks... so they are better than just MIDI to audio tracks.... better means more detailed, more complex...

OK... so we pick one that might be a logical source for chords, ...say the piano [not a solo]

So Sonic Visualizer and Chordino does it's thing and gives us a .csv file that we import into the Reaper Project.... and the chords it finds are indeed very detailed... wherein lies maybe a problem...

If we look back at the song in BB, the chords there are basic... C, F, G, with some 7th's, some minors, etc.
It would be nice to have that same structure come into Reaper as named regions... but with the Chordino .csv file what we get is MUCH more detailed... often to the point of near madness...

It would be nice if there was an option in Chordino to simplify the chords it finds.... see what I'm saying????

Your thoughts plz...
