Default bug? transient-optimized stretch markers result in incorrect peak timing display

i'm finding that if i change my stretch marker mode to transient-optimized, i get different timing results on audio in between stretch markers. is this expected? if so, shouldn't the peaks display accordingly?

here, i glue an item under 2 modes, tonal and transient optimized. note that in both cases, the timing of the peaks changes a little bit (compare to edit cursor)

this is a wav file. it makes me nervous, since i rely on the peaks to give me a grid-accurate display of what's going on
