Reapeaks: Display audio/midi like in Logic, Ableton, FL studio
It’s convenient for me that the item was at the entire height of the track. I drag the items by grab it at top. And many users make display same way too. But this display looks dirty.I have some visual impairment and if I use buttons and the name I CAN`T SEE IT!.It overlaps waveform. My FR is ability shift the wave down while preserving the drag and drop zone. Like in Logic Ableton, FL studio.

For me it is my personal perfectionist hell coz I am often work with loud mastering and can`t see buttons at all.

You could turn down the peaks also if you want.

I can be mistaken, but in my opinion peaks can only be increased, but not decreased.

Yes they can only be increased. So if the minimum peak is at the same height of the label area then it's a problem.. That's why i gave my +1 to the op's request.
In order to avoid such thing, i prefer to have the option: Draw labels above the item,rather than within the item on.

Unfortunately only increase.
Maybe peaks size can be changed when editing the color theme?
