Great stuff for sure. Any chance of getting the directory path included in the render presets down the road please?

+ MIDI editor: import/export of note names includes custom-view ordering information if set
Importing doesn't seem to work on new midi items, is it supposed to?

Start new project
Add track
Add empty midi item, double click to open MIDI editor.
Load a (non-reordered) CC note file.
Reorder some notes. ( I moved 3 kicks to very bottom)
Save as new CC note file.

Start new project
Add track
Add empty midi item, double click it to open MIDI editor.
Load the reordered CC note file you just made.
The notes are still in the original order.

I took a look at the new CC note file and can see it has added ordering data and note# for the kicks I moved are at the top of that list, but seems REAPER is ignoring that data?

Files attached.

The I/O and Reset buttons of the Pin Connector aren't visible with Windows Scaling 125% or higher with this update.

"Media Item Lanes" is being cooked for the 6.5 version is my guess. Together with all the requests in my signature you welcome.

After importing you might need to switch to "named notes" mode -- reordering isn't visible in piano keys mode

the reason it isn't mentioned in the RC thread, via the most recent DEV thread:

It will still be a while before that branch is merged into the release version of REAPER so the old label height preference remains as it was previously, in the released version.

+ Meters: consistent rounding behavior across all peak metering
I have noticed that in some cases there are still some rounding differences between FX/Render meters vs. track meters.

These occur for example when a clipped audio file is imported in Reaper and its (item) gain lowered by -0.05 or -0.15 or -0.25 etc.. in these cases the FX/Render meters will round upwards while the track meters will round downwards.

So for example if I lower the gain of a clipped file by -0.05, the FX/Render meters will show +0.0, while the track meters will show -0.1.

If however I render the clipped file via Reaper and let Reaper normalize it to 0dB and then import it again, the rounding will suddenly be consistent. Lowering the gain by -0.05 will now in both FX/Render meters and track meters result in a peak value of -0.1.

Not that I personally care about this level of mathematical detail but I figured I will better mention it, should this give you devs some clues about something you might still want to improve.

Btw clip indicator behavior is still perfect and consistent everywhere, thanks again for that improvement.

I would be very anxious if media lanes would make it to a stable release with the current state. I expect a lot more after so many requests and ideas from many users.
Mostly I would love to see an auto mute feature for the overlapping parts across lanes. It's been mentioned many times, crossing my fingers since they first appeared..

Except the above, really nice update, congrats!

Could we please get a mouse-modifier for Delta Solo? Something like CTRL+clicking the wet/dry knob.

Still getting some slight inconsistencies with LRA and RMS between playback/JS meter and render stats, even with the same test project (which is just one file on one track with no plugins anywhere). Render stats seems to produce predictable results, while the JS is sometimes a bit off.
And oh, the RMS-I value in the JS meter keeps dropping after playback has stopped, is this intended behaviour? That makes comparisons a bit tricky.

Apart from that, great work. Hello ReaLimit, goodbye LoudMax

Yes, I'm testing in "named notes" mode only. One midi editor per project if that matters. Even with a clean portable install of rc1, no difference. Also if I reorder some notes then load the non-ordered cc file the notes don't get changed either.

If I do the same thing and save as track template (without media) then load the template in new project, add midi, when I open the midi item the note names are there and reordered.

Ah, you might also have to select "show custom note view" to enable the ordering

Ah sorry, I didn't know it was an option, haven't tested this feature in very long time! Enabled and working. Thanks!

For anyone else as clueless as me, View > Show/hide note rows > Show custom note row view

this version broke some of scripts code that expect the Wet parameter to be the last one and now it is Delta. I was using reaper.TrackFX_GetNumParams() to get the number of parameters and then get the last one for the wet. This was because other plugins could name the parameter "Wet" too so this way I was sure I got quickly the Dry/Wet reaper parameter. Maybe you could change the order to be Delta and then Wet as the last one to keep compatibility. Or maybe there is a better way to get the wet parameter that I don't know.

There is something in my memory that tells me that wet was the first one always, but i should be confused with something else.

Same here, was simply getting last param, so I changed script to loop backwards and search for Wet since REAPER params are always last anyways shouldn't be a problem. But ya Delta, Bypass, Wet order would be good.

I have been using this for my setup for a while.
You will need to make an individual script for each destination and then load it into your actions list and make it part of a custom action. I made a folder called "Render destinations" that I keep my destination scripts in.
I know this works on windows.

This is the script (it's very short)

reaper.GetSetProjectInfo_String(0, 'RENDER_FILE', 'PUT YOUR FILE PATH HERE', true)
-- it's called RENDER_FILE, but it really is for the render directory. Put your file path in between the ' marks where it says PUT YOUR FILE PATH HERE

This example below renders it to my dropbox folder for my music library into a folder titled 2021.

reaper.GetSetProjectInfo_String(0, 'RENDER_FILE', 'E:/Dropbox (Personal)/_DropboxBig/Music Library/_Electronic/2021', true)

again this is only for windows that I know for sure. I hope this helps.

edit..
This destination will have to be first in your list of each custom action
