there was/is an old VST that does reverb calcs on OpenCL GPUs:
gpuimpulsereverb.de
apparently the dev has opted to make it freeware as of this year, given its age and diminished necessity.

i'd wager the (reaper) devs' priorities are more inclined to focus on the GPUs for their primary function at the moment, but one can never be sure.

It seems than all my media peaks have been calculated, so I can't reproduce this thing. But I can give you old crash reports with this issue:

(When we scan new media files, it would be great if peaks are automatically calculated!)

That's a good rule.

I really hope some more thought is put into this. The toolbar is a welcomed improvement, but removing the existing controls is a step backwards in terms of usability/workflow.

Hmm, can you remove the .reapeaks files for some of them and temporarily rename your appdata/REAPER/MetadataCaches/ directory so that it needs to rescan it? Crashes with 1126 specifically are of limited help, sorry for this trouble! 1128 or an earlier build would both help.
