Really like the master track! Love that you've made the volume into a knob instead of a fader. It seems cleaner. I never move the master fader anyway.
Whatever you do to the TCP - I have a feeling it's gonna be great ;-)
I'd try to divide it into to column or whatever features you use the most.
Maybe arm, fader and pan - then below that input, record input
The another column for FX to the right, with sends below that?
And then mute and solo to the right of the meter?
Do whatever you find most logical :-) If you're in doubt, then you can always include different layout or options to change the layout in the theme adjuster. That is a lot of work though, so that might be too much to ask for

I'm loving what I see so far, can't wait to use this theme (really excited).
One request (if possible) -- Could you also create a slim/narrow option in the Layout/Mixer Panel for the MCP, (Pretty please)??? It really helps on projects with large channel counts.

Looks great!
Question:
Is the meter in the master track (mcp) scalable in height or fixed?
I would like to have the ability to reduce or hide inserts and sends to increase the master meter up to full screen height. Similar to mawi's echolot theme. Maybe as an optional track layout without pan knob (or small space saving pan slider)? I don't know about you guys, but I've never needed a pan knob on the master in 10+ years. But a high resolution meter is important.
I'm sure with some adjustments you can get even more space for the meter, but maybe something like this:

Yes the theme is scalable and master track too. And i love your idea about the master track a will do Master B whit this . I never use pan in master track track too. But i do it more pratical as possible and follow the inital Reaper style. Master B is a quite good idea. Thank Zeno

Just throwing it out there, but Realogix is the only theme that puts the effects and sends on the right side that can be seen in a minimized position, while also having all the necessary TCP controls, including pan and volume. I'd love another theme option, especially knowing how aesthetically pleasing all your themes are

Totally. I love the PT-style fx-list. It would be nice to have the option to choose left side, right side or below like you can with some themes.

Great work!
This theme is heading in a very good direction. Very much looking forward to giving it a run. Plugins are especially interesting. Makes me wonder why this hasn't been tried before.

Yo what.
First of all, keep the Virus name or change it to literally whatever you want. I will use it even if it's called "Poop".
Secondly, amazing stuff! Not really anything to complain about so far. Just waiting for the DL

Really looking forward to this. The aesthetics of Reaper has always been a weak point for me, coming from Logic and Studio One. I own and exclusively use I Logic 3, but this looks like your absolute best yet.
I use Tukan plugs all the time. Teaming with him is wise and the result is anticipated.
Thanks for all that you do.

waiting on this one. i thought default 6 plus White Ties assembler and Smooth6 was all i needed but this has got to be one of the best looking modern themes. Smooth6 and VIRUS should be on the default theme list. great work. hopefully it'll drop soon.

I hope too, that we'll have this theme (and as it seems even more) soon.
But we're not teaming. (yet) I'm not involved in this Virus-thing.

Yes, I read his post too quickly. He said only that he borrowed some of your code. That itself was wise.
Thank you for all that you do as well, Tukan. Limiter 2 is on every single drum bus, smashed & blended. (sorry for thread hijack)

Hi @Blankfiles!
I have a few thoughts that might help you out - if not, feel free to disregard some or all of this! :-)
- Reg. the master, it would be nice with a master with only the readout (a bit larger i guess) and the fx's list. So no volume or pan, but keeping the mono, menu, solo and mute buttons. Maybe people use the volume and pan, but i've never come across a situation where i would.
- Reg. the TCP I would take a look at the TCP in something like this:
https://stash.reaper.fm/theme/2853/P...ReaperThemeZIP
I know it's a rip-off of Pro Tools, but the TCP is so nicely laid out and I'd mix almost exclusively in the TCP if it was laid out something like this. So maybe take inspiration but make it your own?
There's a few thing that stands out to me that's makes the PT-style TCP work really nicely:
- Of course, the fx-list and how it automatically goes smaller and how it automatically make it two rows with a lot of fx's.
- Instead of a knob or a fader, the volume, pan and width are just numbers you can adjust. I love this. Really compact and readable at the same time.
- There seems to be a prioritized list of what's most important to the user and those things are kept when the TCP gets smaller. F.I. the volume and pan have 1st priority and something like phase is down the list. And that seems to happen when you arm the tracks as well - input-selection should show at that point. Stuff like that. I never use stuff like input-fx's, so to me that should be a small button that has a low priority - people might disagree here, dunno.
- The meter should be on the right of course.
- There's a few things that doesn't make sense in Reaper (two places to choose inputs f.i.) so a Reaper-fied version of this would be awesome.
- Reg. the transport - I see you have some space between the metronome and the global automation. That would be suuuuper cool spot to be able to put the navigator or have the space collapse when you put the navigator next to the transport in the docker, so you can have the navigator next to transport without losing any functionality.
Your work is amazing and you can disregard all of this if you feel like it's rubbish :-) Trying to help out if you're in a rut, or maybe just start a discussion about the theme layout that might help you as well.
Sorry for the long post - no potato I'm afraid.
