fix VST2 to VST3 state conversion
fix VST2-VST3 mapping for plug-ins with non-alphanumeric characters in their names
What are these? Does this mean old VST2 plugins can get converted to VST3?

#CLAP
Last param of my plugin in generic UI is now displayed fine (I guess due to + FX: fix generic UI when last parameter is an enum in v6.65rc1), thanks.
Though in VST3 it's a slider, in CLAP a dropdown, not that it actually matters for functionality, but intended?
edit: Actually I find the dropdown more handy for choice style parameters.

I realize the disclaimer here, but it's a little weird that there isn't a way to have "Select tracks in group when selecting group" active when using "Add selected tracks to group". If putting it in a contextual menu instead isn't appealing to you maybe similar to what AZPercussion suggested you could add a new column for this and then the user just clicks on the + sign in the column next to the group. You could add a new column with a - sign as well for remove selected from group.
Also, in the right click TCP menu, would you consider adding a "create group from selected tracks" option which creates a new group at the next unused group? Or maybe an action? (or both...) If a group attribute needs to be set to create the group a "create media/razor edit group from selected tracks" would be fine as well and then the user can edit the attributes as desired. That would make the initial group creation faster without having to open the track grouping parameters window or grouping matrix. You could put an "add selected tracks to group" in the TCP contextual menu as well with a submenu with a group list to select the group.

This is fantastic. Thank you!!
Think this might be a bug in the Track Manager group assign?
In the track drop-down menu of the group manager, maybe it would be better to show just the tracks for the group that was clicked on? That would make it a little easier to navigate and enable/disable tracks for the specific group rather than showing track folders for every single group. Or perhaps making this an option in the right-click contextual menu options?

Some notes.

Razor works on one track only if I use automatically group selected tracks. Ok with all tracks.

You can notice in GIF above that there is no indicator. It appears only if you have at least one regular group.

When I click Group column in folder track row it sets group for that track only. But if I select track folder first it works as described. Is this intentional?
Also it seems now mirror track selection option works one direction only, from manager to project but not otherwise.
And little visual glitch with mouse cursor. Initially I thought it was dev thing, but it wasn't so here is the separate thread https://forum.cockos.com/showthread....60#post2585960

By the way I think it would be great to have a "Track Group Manager..." button in Grouping parameters window. Like we have "Grouping Matrix..." in Track Group Manager.

Should say that now adding selected tracks works for unselected group. So there stays a small step to let it work for selected group.
I suggested a special button near group name instead of column, because column is somethibg common for all rows, but there are tracks in rows along with the group names.
(At least on mac, because on win I don't see the picture below, I see the old view with tracks in a string, not in the list.)

Thanks for this feature!
However the column disappears after closing and reopening the track manager:
Also I noticed another bug (which seems to affect previous Reaper versions too). When hiding a track it somehow jumps to the top of the list, creating a lot of confusion:
Ultimately, please do add the option to hide child tracks when hiding parent tracks. I find it very unintuitive to have to either collapse a folder first to hide its child tracks, or have to select all of them before hiding. It can happen quickly to forget that and the folder track is gone and in the heat of the moment as a user I can quickly become unsure what folder the leftover child tracks belong to. You can see the unintuitive behavior here (made worse by the previously mentioned bug):

What OS are you on? The intended behavior is that the track list column is special and clicking it does not select the row/group, therefore does not select the items in the group, therefore there is no conflict with this option.

This bug is probably incorrect interaction with another hidden column. Can you post a screenshot of the full column header dropdown to show the visibility of all columns?

Ah, I think I understood what happened. Probably I accidentally clicked onto the "TCP" header and it started sorting based on visible/hidden. I now made the track number column visible, clicked onto it to sort by track number, hid the column again and the old, wanted behavior was restored.

Maybe it would be better/nicer to use these for folder colapsing instead of +-. Plus can be misinterpreted as add track and minus as remove track.

And what about highlighting a row on mouse hover. There is a lot of parameters and the track manager can get wide easily. I have problems even when it is narrow.

Yes, if the plugin and host (Reaper does) support it.

Yes, this is on Linux. Sorry I should have posted a GIF.
As you can see in the GIF, even though I'm clicking in the track list and technically the group is not being selected (it is highlighted white instead of the darker selection color) the tracks themselves in the TCP are being selected.

So just to be clear here, when I click on the group column in the track manager, it simply opens the track parameter window and then immediately closes it. It doesn't matter if the group value is empty or if there is a group assignment.

I can also confirm this bug. If you add columns for expand/collapse and groups, when you close and reopen the track manager, those columns are now gone. Same if you have the track manager docked and close and reopen the project.
EDIT: Here is a screenshot of the columns in the track manager.

Looks like the automatic group replaces the highest-number group, which is a great adjustment. Thanks, it seems to be working fine for me. Could we get a non-toggle action to force-set the automatic group to selected tracks (the opposite of "Track: Turn off automatic track grouping")? Or is the idea that I test the toggle command state of all/track and then set those toggles as appropriate? I think that a direct action would be useful FWIW.
I do not see the theme element for autogrouped tracks -- I see the color in the tweaks panel, but I don't see a grouping indicator in the Default theme. Am I just blind and overlooking something obvious, or is it MIA? macOS 12.5 FWIW
Thanks

Can anyone get U-he's MFM2.5 CLAP Preview build working on Monterey 12.5 with the native silicon build? It keeps failing on scan. I installed using all the default paths. Right now, it's the only CLAP plugin I have that's failing. Works fine on Windows.

I think you are confusing the group manager with the track manager. The first GIF is the group manager. The second GIF is the track manager. So currently there are no track name rows in the group manager, only group names.
And I know I've harped on this a couple times now, so I promise to shut up about it after this, but right now, the Track Manager implementation of indented tracks inside folders and being able to expand/collapse them is really, really great. It makes navigating large projects so much easier. It would be utterly fantastic if you implemented the same thing in the Group Manager with indented tracks inside groups with expand/collapse. That would give parity between the two and make enabling/disabling so much easier for tracks in the group.

Now that I think about it for a few moments, what I think would be really useful here is a "locked" automatic group -- you enable it for selected tracks and then it's locked to whatever it was set to until it's turned off and on again.
The problem I have with the group-follows-selection paradigm is that track selection in REAPER is not always consistent -- click an item, the track is selected; marquee-select some items, the tracks are not selected. The reliability and utility of a group-follows-track-selection rule is dependent on your ability to predict how the selection can change as you work.
So a locked behavior would be welcome here. I can also just rebuild my own "temp group" script based on a Group 64 (but without the helpful 'highest-group' actions), but I think the use case I'm describing is pretty common.

Text is aligned left (the track manager "group" column is incorrect and should be aligned left), numbers are aligned right, and symbols (dots, single-character indicators like "M" for mute, etc) are centered.

Thanks.
In JUCE it's getNumSteps() which I've overriden to return 3 (for test) and I can see Reaper calling it on plugin load and I can indeed change the steps of the slider, but I still get no dropdown in the VST3 version.

This isn't really workable for a couple of reasons, such as that there is no current track state that means "this track is a member of this group usually but is temporarily disabled."

Yeah that's what I meant when I wrote that, but check my 2nd post -- I thought about it a little more. In any case, I think this direct action would be helpful for building more complex actions.

Yes, what I mean is that the automatic group doesn't display that color anywhere that I can see. I don't see grouping markers in the TCP as I do for the normal track groups.

On Linux, everything seems to be aligned left?

What do you see when you do this with automatically group selected tracks enabled?
.. ahh, never mind, I see that the area where the track grouping indicators is displayed is not shown at all if there are no (non-automatic) groups defined, that's the issue.

I see, but I'm a little confused then. If I go into the group manager track drop-down and disable a track in the group and then go back into the same track drop-down, that track is still listed in the group folder. So you must be tracking some kind of state, yes? Otherwise, that track would have been removed from the group folder and put in the main (ungrouped) list at the bottom with the other tracks.
If you are already doing that for a group folder in the drop-down list, I'm not seeing why you can't do the same thing in a group folder in the main window as well.
