In this zoom, my FX list has disappeared. Is it normal or a bug?

OK, the amount of zoom is not the same than with the last version.
This new feature will not destroy lots of theme?
My theme had taken into account every degree of zoom (the first zooms).

I got a strange behaviour
What I noticed is that sometimes even having the tracks armed for recording, the audio is not going through. I have to dis-arm and re-arm the tracks ...

Is it intentional that maximum zoom level can be set in 13-800% range? My screen resolution is 1920x1080 with 1.25 DPI scaling.

When Reaper opens, it doesn't recall the vertical scroll bar position of the arrangement window.
When inside project.rpp, there is "SHOW 1" inside <FXCHAIN>, the window arrangement is not well recalled.

Those are meant as sanity bounds .. the maximum zoom can be as low as 12.5% = 1/8x (meaning 8 tracks fit on the screen at maximum zoom) or as high as 800% = 8x (meaning one track is 8 screens tall at maximum zoom).

I can understand 1/8x, but why 8x?
Using mousewheel I can't scroll through one track and track number is hidden. How would you use tracks with such a height? Dragging scrollbars with mouse?
Not sure, but maybe updating track heights (higher than new zoom level) after decreasing maximum zoom would be useful?

We could make the sanity bounds smaller I suppose. But it's also pretty easy to not type in "800" for this preference

That's true, but I was checking what would happen.
Also updated my previous post with "Not sure, but maybe updating track heights (higher than new zoom level) after decreasing maximum zoom would be useful?"

For some reason I don't get 8 tracks, nor 5, nor exactly 2 (2+).

Thanks, feels nice! Zooming is way smoother now
Not sure if that's related but scrolling is smooth when mouse is over arrange view but not when mouse is over TCP (it seems to only increment by track height)

The degree of zoom is not consistent! This why my fx list disappears!
There was no such problem on previous versions.
Step: 8 * mouseshell move (zoom)
and after that, unzoom... the size of TCP will not be the same than before.
Maximum zoom: 100%.

Maybe this time my idea will work again (like with razor edits). Here are two variants, both striped, but the stripes are mirrored regarding what we have in razor edits. Left item has default color, right item is set to custom color.
Lighter stripes are selection, darker are item's color:
Same here, but now selection consists of two colors, which may be different, but ideally should be complementary.

And for 25%, I ve got 3 tracks.
DPI 100% 4K

Zoom steps seem broken on this reaper version:
looks like some intermediate zoom steps are missing.
It zooms too fast.
dev1230 (It works well. zoom is more progressiv):

the thing is, that action now allows you to freely size between the pre-defined sizes that the theme has... so you should be able to get all of the sizes, it just won't _snap_ to the pre-defined ones. Is it operating too quickly so that you go from one size to the next too quickly?

Try making a custom action with the mousewheel zoom, and stick one or two "Action: Modify MIDI CC/mousewheel: 0.5x" before it, see if that slows it down enough?

I designed my theme to go perfectly with each level of zoom. Now, it's broken.
This combined optimiastion of space (no free space that is useless) and aesthetic appearance.
Also, the old system seemed to offer much more predictable zoom steps with smoother steps (smaller zoom levels). Now, it's unpredictable (not the same amount of zoom or unzoom) and this can make some themes not great.
For me the previous zoom system was perfect.
Too bad, I would stay with the previous version.
Previous (perfect):
Now:

Now it should have many more steps if zooming by mousewheel -- did you try the custom action w/ meta action to see if that solves? Not saying it would be a permanent solution but help me diagnose your issue.
Is your theme up somewhere btw?

Yes. I have tried but issues remain.
My TCP transformation is very strange/ugly sometimes.

also what OS and mouse type? there really should be many steps between each zoom level, e.g. you can increase the size of each track by a few pixels at a time...
