Very useful to start comping right away!

Not sure if it's the right place to report, if not please delete, but having to do with editing in lanes the mouse modifier to adjust start/end doesn't work when the options loop source for imported and recorded items is off.

Default Small nitpick

The line indicator next to the number doesn't show up with left click so we have to drag the mouse. But when we click on a number it happens instantly.

Could also be nice to have some form of visual indication that a lane contains comp areas, e.g. square lane header buttons.

Agreed and to auto-name newly created comp lanes by default to C1, C2...

I'm pianist and I use fixed lanes option to record me (with one MIDI editor per project and "open all MIDI on the same track" because with this option Reaper does't lag and because I want to edit the items which have not been opened).

I use fixed lanes record mode rather than "creates new takes" because, it's better. I can argue if you want.

But I have got a big issue: if I want to edit one MIDI item I can't only see the clicked item. I see the MIDI notes of all the items which are below or above!

It would be great to add an option to fix that!

I can't edit that!

In the MIDI editor, if you enable contents / track list, you can choose which media items to view or edit.

The issue is:

each time I want to edit a midi item whose midi notes are mixed with another item, I'm going to have to do some more clicks, which can be painful if I make lots of edit.

THe issue with muted note is: we can't know if the muted note is inside the clicked MIDI item or an another item. And if we want to add a new note or edit a note on the muted note it can be hard...

If a note is on a muted note It can be hard, too...

And the track list panel takes some place, too. The MIDI notes area is reduced.

If I have chosen "open all MIDI on the same track" and not "open all MIDI on the project" it's to avoid the muted notes issues.

So, why I would like to see this issue again with fixed lanes?!

What should happen if you double click on a MIDI item on a non-playing lane? The items need to be editable, so it seems to me like the only behavior that makes sense is to treat them similarly to muted media items.

The only thing I would like to avoid with "open all MIDI on the same track" is to display MIDI notes of items which are below or above the selected item (inside a track with fixed lanes).

If we want to edit theses items, we selected them with double click or with another way.

After that, if we want to edit a muted track, it can be great to know what notes are muted inside the MIDI item. If all notes are displayed like muted we can't know. Plus, we can't use the note color to know the note pitch if they are muted.

I'm going to have to agree here -- you'd go nuts if you saw all of your MIDI takes stacked on top of one another, too.

An other good reason to be able to paste in to a specific lane:

When i record music which is not clic based, lanes are very helpfull to stack a couple of take, but all the specific comping functions are not ideal because although the takes might roughly line up, if you comp with the current tools, you then have to do a lot of work to readjsut things in the comp lane, wasting quite a bit of time.

If you could copy razor areas or full items in your source lanes, and then paste them in to a specific lane to assemble it would be a lot easier.

It would be great to have double left click for Fixed lane header button (mouse modifiers)!



Like that:



one click on the button: "play only this lane"
double clicks: "Comp into lane"

i know that most of the attention has been on the fixed lanes, but has anyone found how to enable the embedded GR metering for third party compressors?

Right click it and Enable Embedded in TCP/MCP. (or whatever the wording is)

for some reason, it isn't showing up for me. Wonder if it showing is dependent on something from the plugin in question.

Also noticing my plugins are showing as bridged, for some reason. Perhaps i will just update to the next dev release, wondering if i accidentally grabbed the 32 bit version.

I'll install another portable version, making sure that i grab the right architecture, next time.

You happen to have a screenshot of how it looks? Wondering if it just shows an inverted meter lane beside the primary meters, like in other unnamed DAWs

i did accidentally have the 32 bit version installed, but with x64 and no longer bridging, i still don't have the option for a lot of the plugins i like. The screenshot here is trying to show the meter for IK Multimedia Bus Compressor, for example

The particular plugin has to support the VST3 extension to report gain reduction to the host.
