Default midi takes/comps not moving with regions correctly

Hi there,

As far as I can tell, while comping with midi items, regions are not being moved correctly.

Here's a before and after, in the first pic the turquoise region is at bar 17. I then moved it to bar 13. For some reason, the result is the second picture.

Just wondering, does this appear to be a bug, or am I misinterpreting it somehow?

Thanks

It's hard to tell exactly what's going on from the screenshots, but it appears that the region has moved correctly? Is the issue that the comp areas formerly at bar 13, which are now at bar 17, are lost?

Hi, thanks for the reply.

Yes, that’s what has me scratching my head. So this is the expected behavior?

No, the expected behavior is for all of the comp areas to remain. But I can't reproduce what you are seeing.

Hi.
I came across the same thing yesterday, but with razor:

But as it turns out, it’s the same with the regions:

Even selecting items and switching takes in this project is buggy:

I can't provide a full list of steps to reproduce from the start because I couldn't figure out the sequence, but I have a project where I managed to catch it. .rpp attached. Just open it and try to duplicate this area.

In addition, copying all items in area does not work at all. I already mentioned this in the pre-release forum:

I believe that from the user's point of view, copying a region and copying all items in that region are the same action and should lead to the same results. And I could be wrong, but I think it worked fine in some of the older Pre.

Thanks for posting the project. We should be able to improve this in the next prerelease build, though the fix is a bit subtle and might need to remain in prerelease for a while.
