Thanks for performance updates! Generally don't see/feel any difference in MIDI but maybe its on specific areas.
Anyway scrolling in arrange midi follow scroll gets stuttery and lags behind mouse while scrolling in midi its butter smooth? ![]() You cant see that perfectly here in gif but try to reproduce it: Arrange hand scroll -> Midi follow stutters and lags behind mouse Midi hands Scroll -> all fine, arrange follows instantly and all butter smooth Same if docked or undocked

Hey Justin, thanks so much for those new features!
Unfortunately, it didn't change anything here ![]() In this video I'm using the same script in the arrange as in the MIDI editor (it's a bit more advanced than the one I linked, but the essence is the same). The notes move totally smooth in the arrange when the ME is closed. But at the very moment, I open the ME (no matter if docked or undocked), things start to slow down. Have a look here: Video Does this give you a hint, where this might be coming from?

Yeah did that, without any noticeable change.

Hi!
The Scroll vertically (MIDI relative/mousewheel) is now super slow: https://imgur.com/a/wI9dEmk https://imgur.com/a/dq5GXTE (comparing to Arrangement scroll) For reference, I have a MX Master 3 and it's set to Free Spin (instead of Ratchet). In the video I'm doing a continuous and fast scroll but the response in Reaper is very slow. |

Still having lags and stuttering on play cursor, plug-ins' UI meters, spectrum analyzers like SPAN, etc., when the mixer is shown. Just tested this on 7.15 and everything is smooth there.
Sonoma 14.3.1 MBP M1 8GB/256GB My reaper.ini is attached in case you might need it for debugging.

This version has a big problem. When I open a project with a startup script, it crashes and the interface freezes.
The operating system is Win8.1. The dump file has been sent to the email.

I had a question about performance as I found something strange recently.
I've got an i9 with 10 logical processors but have 20 due to hyper threading (no efficiency cores) and I run reaper at 64 buffer on an rme pci card. Recently (not sure which version it started on), I've started having pops and glitches with even small amounts of vsts open (reaper at about 25 percent) and started trying a few things to get the performance back up. Reaper had auto set the along of cores to 20 so knowing I only have 10 logical, I tried dropping the amount to 10 instead of 20. Reaper suddenly started acting normal again so my question is, is that the correct amount of cores I should be choosing or is there a bug? If I set reaper to 128 buffer with 20 processors set. It actually behaves quite well also but I've always ran reaper at at 64 with no issues but have only recently had to do music again rather than just audio so my cpu usage is more demanding for the current project. Anyone else noticed this or devs, does that seem right? Thanks.

There are lag issues with mouse clicks.
Randomly when I make notes selection with the mouse right click, the menu appears: ![]() -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- When I only want to click on the TCP, some of my plugs can be opened:

I used to get this exact behaviour all the time. It was improved when MIDI Editor responsiveness was improved about a year ago, but still getting it occasionally when things are feeling laggy. Might be related to MIDI Editor buffering/preview settings? I notice it most when editing MIDI on tracks with high-cpu/PDC.

While fixing little mouse related display quirks, would it be possible to address the issue where when we drag an FX from the browser to empty TCP space, it creates a new channel with that FX as an insert as expected, but the insert doesn't show up in the MCP until you actually mouse over it. Until then, it looks like an empty channel.
That little nitpicky display bug just irks me more than it should for some reason.

You might need to provide more information for the devs to understand how to replicate. Also, perhaps write a bug report in the bug forum, if it's not directly related to this pre-release. |

Thank you. I hope this is exactly what will fix an old serious bug with double clicks not working: https://forum.cockos.com/showthread.php?t=248761 https://forums.cockos.com/showthread.php?p=2605232 Unfortunately, then I could not find a reason or some kind of dependence. The only thing I noticed is that at least three people (including me) with this problem had Logitech gaming mice. So, most likely, the problem was with the high refresh rate of the mouse. Hope. |

Steps: 1. Pre-Conditions (maybe?): Windows 10, floating FX windows, docked browser (left), and docked MCP (bottom) 2. Drag an FX from the browser into empty space in the TCP 3. Look at the insert bin in the MCP Result: very often, the insert slot shows as empty until you mouse over that spot as shown below. Happens with just every plugin, but doesn't seem to happen 100% of the time. Maybe like 80% here. ![]() The reason I brought that up here is because of the mouse polling changes. I figured it may be related to something not updating on the GUI until the mouse hits that area of the channel's FX bin.
