for the theme adjuster, didn't you reuse the old localizations?
it seems that nothing can be translated

Default V7.17 Varying Tempo Issue

Hi

I just opened a project with tempo markers in it and the tempo is varying all over the place but gradual change between tempo markers isn't selected. Sounds similar to Duran Duran's The Reflex but I ain't got Nile to cover it over with nah nah nah nahs. Can you guys double check please? Thanks for the help

We'd need more information to understand. Are you able to share the project (minus audio)?

Default bug vsti Demon drop the crow hill co.

got a reproducible here:

this plugin (demon drop drums vsti) on a track (+ GUI VISIBLE) -> alt-click the insert in mixer to delete the plugin -> reaper goes away.
gui hidden = no crash.

mac m1 OS14 btw

i appreciate its probably all their fault.

The velocity/length bug does appear to be fixed, thank you Schwa! Theme OK by me, too.

Never mind. I had the 6.0 theme selected so it loaded the 6.0 theme adjuster. 😂

Theme adjuster is a nice improvement but still, it would be nice to see sends on tcp.

I also wonder if the fx section can be visible on the right when adding fx to the track.

I used to have a Short Term LUFS Loudness line displayed on top of the item waveform, but it has gone in 7.17, how do I get it back?

In Preferences? I can't find it under Appearance - Peaks/Waveforms or Media - Peaks Generation. Or by right clicking the waveform/item itself.

[EDIT] Found it, nestled deeply within the main Options menu, thank you! REAPER settings can be kinda all over the place...

Sorry should have pointed out that you could have run the action to bring the menu up

@devs the following actions:
  • Item: Split item under mouse cursor (select right)
  • Item: Split item under mouse cursor (ignore grouping, select right)

Have the same command ID 42577. Is this intended?

Experiencing in 7.17, overlapping Regions now come forward if selected, I can imagine this being useful for some, but for me it has thrown off my workflow, is there any way to get the old version back, I can't seem to see this in the release notes?

Selected regions are drawn above unselected regions, that's not configurable. But if you have overlapping regions, you might prefer to see regions in lanes, like this:

I preferred the option to have more head room on the header and the option to quickly loop different sections based off where I double click, this has thrown a huge spanner in that way of working.

Default no label lenght for layout B?

Hi, why is there no option to change label lenght on Track Layout B? There is an option for this for layout A _AND_ C, but no B. Since I have all my visuals based on layout B, I am going completely mad because of this, because I was literally waiting for this update just for a new theme adjuster. I know I can adjust settings for layout A, but - why? Why no B ??.. my adhd wants to kill me for this.

Hmm, well, for now you'll need to display regions in lanes when using 7.17. We'll restore support for the previous display for the next version.

The new theme adjuster is great, but I think I've found a bug.

Show MCP meter values for selected/non-selected override each other, so it's the same if selected or not.

I've only had a few minutes to play with it, so I'll test more later. It's on Windows and it was layout C, if that makes any difference.

Thanks devs for all the great work.

Would it be possible to have an option to disable input info in the MCP (input selection, record mode, input FX) when the track is not armed for recording?
(Like it's currently implemented for the TCP)

The reclaimed space would be very useful when mixing.

Its probably doing it, but Reaper isn't updating because you've not changed enough things. Try setting one of them 1px wider.

All three layouts are the same, I promise!

Not directly, but you can do vaguely equivalent things. You can get the mixer to change width based on armed status, and for each of the STANDARD and REDUCED widths you can set Input section to hide below a bigger height than you actually use it, effectively hiding it.

I figured that one out, set it to 500 px, and the input section goes away. Is there a similar way to hide the rec arm, and monitor buttons in the MCP? I'd like to maximize the space for the fader and meters.

Related to the project bpm adjustment on media import, there's an undesirable behaviour: the import position is always time based and not QN based.

If the imported media is spotted at a later point in the project and not right at the beginning, this results in the media being inserted in a position != edit cursor.

In the gif i try to import a 112bpm media in a 120bpm project at measure 5, and adjust the tempo of the project based on the imported media. This happens:

(project timebase is set to Beats)

The item is spotted at the right time, but not at the right QN position, which is what i'd expect. In this case i'm not even displaying any secondary ruler markings that could help telling what's going on.

To have a more WYSIWYG experience in this regard, i'd suggest recalculating the edit cursor QN position before actually inserting the item in the project, so the item ends up exactly where the user placed it in the first place.

Maybe it should behave differently if the ruler is displaying a different timebase, or the project timebase is set to time?

+ Peaks: use new loudness peaks file format which supports per-channel loudness, previously-calculated loudness peaks may be automatically recalculated
It seems the new loudness peaks file format is beeing calculated wrongly.

Here two screenshots of normalized items:

1) with Reaper 7.16
2) with Reaper 7.17

The visual feedback of the loudness is off.

2 Takes with quite different level (around 17dB difference) > then normalized to -25LUFS-I and here is what I get: the loudness is the same but the one take that was recorded with lower level is shown a different color (assuming to have less loudness) even they are matched (as seen in the Reaper 7.16 Screenshot where they have the same color rendition).

all the best to everyone
cheers

Ah, thanks for the report. The peaks file calculation is fine, the error is in applying the media item volume adjustment to the peaks display. Fixing!

Default Is the theme adjuster supposed to look like this?

Hi again,
I just saw Reaper Blog´s video on new theme adjuster and I realised mine looks "a bit" different. All I see is just a long long list (as seen in attachment), no neat separate menus. Is it because I am using slightly adjusted Default 7 theme?
