Been running Windows 8 Pro x64 since just a little after it came out. I run Windows Update, and only had one problem with my control surfaces once, which was solved about 3 days later with another Windows Update.

Given that I was able to continue working around it, I can't say the problem was big enough to make me change anything about my machine.

Others may disagree, but I also work in a computer shop. Updates are important.

If that computer is online and in particular if the internet connection is used for more than just updating REAPER, Windows updates are usually considered essential.
