Saw it pop up yesterday in SC, so you know I love it. I'm ready for another.

Creative and expressive guitar playing. I like the structure and arrangement. The brass sounds very good. I'm curious how the brass was done. The snare stuck out to me as artificial-sounding.

Thanks Tim. If you're willing, I'm curious to hear a little more detail about why you felt the snare sounded artificial. For example was it the tone, playing - or both? As for the brass, they are all samples from free download packs. I just cut and pasted them together where it sounded good. The Flugel horn in the beginning and end was a little more elaborate.

Default thanks

I love the way the several layers goof on and work off each other. And how the several parts are different but compatible. The writing is basic, solid. The whole arrangement is comfortable and at the same time headed downstream with a nice current. Nice tone and expression on the trumpet, as well as guitar. Sounds like every instrument has received a smothering of sensitive attention. Great.

The snare sounded artificial on my desktop speakers. Listening today on studio monitors it sounds quite real. Sorry about that.

Seriously good jazz composition and performance/programming. Definitely brooding. You really fooled me with the brass samples, they sound very natural to me. Nice use of reverby pads to add atmosphere. Guitar is so laid back it sounds like the strings are going to sleep. Nicely done. I admit to not being much of a jazz fan but I enjoyed this.
