Default The Good Free Effect Plug-in Thread

Forgive me if this thread already exists, but it might be good to get a list of free plug-ins, especially good ones that you'd recommend to others.

Obviously there's the KVR database, filtered here for all free Windows effects.

There's a short list on this German site.

Digital Fish Phones has some good compressors.

Soundhack's +decimate is a good bit/sample reducer.

Who's got a good, low CPU rent brick wall limiter?

www.gersic.com have a great database of plugins - but you have to resist downloading ones you will never use!

A0 Hsitory Pack, Dx or VST

I'm not crazy about the Eq (although a lot of people like it), but I use the Tape Delay almost every day. The flanger is really good, too.

(CH-2)

It really is very good. I've been using it for a while. It doesn't always get along with reaper very gracefully, though.

Pass me a cup of that java, Rokk.

I prefer the CH 1, no gui, I tried the CH 2, but had to let it go.

Here's my latest greatest, 'howdidIevergetalongwithoutthisbaby' chorus.

Nice collection of free FX there, but I need a good pad synth (other than the Odosynths pad synth). It's easy to find a lot of good lead synths, but good pad synths are a bit rare.

You tried Green Oaks's Crystal?
http://www.kvraudio.com/get/219.html
http://www.greenoak.com/crystal/about.html (good support site for a free product)
Or may be the free version of Superwave P8:

Some good free synths here:
http://www.pluginspot.com/documents/46.html

mda Piano,ePiano and DX10.

I already have the Superwave P8
But Crystal seems like a very good synth, judging by the reviews at KVR Audio.

Forgot this one:

http://hem.bredband.net/tbtaudio/

Great reputation, good stuff, incl. a simple and effective brickwall limiter. I like the TLs Saturated Driver. Had a good maximizer as well, but some of the former plugins were moved to FTP (info on page) but that connection doesn't seem to work too well.

Works fine, here. These are some pretty good plugs. And there are a few other goodies on the ftp, besides.

Now I need speech synthesizers: one that produces sound like the old commodore64/Atari computerized digital speech, and one that sounds very realistic.
The FLStudio speech synth is not very good for this and sounds very "fruity" ,but the male voice in the Opera web browser based on the IBM engine sounds (phrases) very realistic for a synthesized thing.
The biggest problem of the FLStudio speech synth is making it
speak languages other than english, like German,Russian,Japanese, etc. that rely on using pure vowels and hard consonants.Too hard to make the Fruity speech synth do this. For example,I can't make it "speak" the German word "Kanalisation" correctly.
"Kawnawleesawtseeon" sounds too weird to be useful.
Also,a good free vocoder can help with this kind of stuff. The Fruity one is not useful for making that vintage 80's "computerized/robotic" voice, like Kraftwerk's or that used in early 90's "Electronica/Techno" music for example.

Here's a quick and short demo I made using the SuperWave P8:

[Link Removed]

A better version coming

It sounds just like the real thing (!),so I was tempted to do a remix-demo.

P.S. It's just a quick 5 minute thing
