You have Preferences/Editing Behavior/Automation/Reduce envelope points when recording or drawing automation enabled? If so, when you draw automation, if the previous point is redundant it will be removed with no effect on the output of the envelope.

Ya it appears I was drawing inside the grid , just wasn't expecting the far left point to ever move unless i manually moved/deleted it I guess.
SORRY, Idiot Post Removed! You can now shame me!

more me.html - browser bars not hidden when added to home screen. not a huge problem, not worth delaying release for it

+ ReaTune: improve manual edit appearance, use MIDI editor theme colors

Using the theme colors looks fine in the Default 5 theme

But not so much in Fusion

...or even Imperial

Maybe the white keys can just be white and not themed ?

Or just readjust the white color in the theme...

A more likely fix would be to recolor the text on white/black keys so that it's always a more contrasted version (if it's dark, make it white, if it's bright, make it black).

I think you're joking, hopefully... Changing theme colours is likely to have unintended consequences on another part of the theme (e.g. a list view or whatever).

Would make it readable for sure, and maybe be a quicker fix, but I think I'd prefer that it would still look (somewhat) like piano keys if at all possible. It's quicker lining up corrections against the keys without having to read the note names (for me anyway).

Not joking. If the colors are well chosen in a theme they will work just fine. Here's how it is over here with RADO theme, it's pretty great (apart from the z-order bug on the piano roll itself, red/blue lines shouldn't be on top of it).

Colors you need to tweak are: MIDI piano key color (naturals) and MIDI piano key color (sharps). These aren't used at all in the list view or in inline editor (they have their own colors!), they are only used if the piano roll doesn't use any graphics for the left hand keyboard. And Imperial and Fusion do seem to do that.

Heh, ok it seems I use two themes that are oddballs thanks for the colour pointers, I can work with that for now.

The z-order bug... I mentioned in one of the earlier pres, the ReaTune keyboard overlaps the timeline when at song position 0:00. If you need to place a correction at 0:00 and the z-order has the correction behind the keyboard, you won't see it... While it doesn't look right at the moment, at least you can see anything that starts at 0:00. The keyboard needs to have it's right-edge at 0:00 when at the beginning of the song and the scrolling pitch area should start at that same right-hand edge.

Edit: Brightening MIDI piano key color (naturals) did the trick, thanks !

If all of the keys are black then it means the theme didn't set the MIDI editor piano key colors (it only sets the images for the keys) -- you should be able to correct this in the theme without breaking anything.

5.51 is quick bug fixes that can be released now, 5.60 is deeper features that take longer to develop and test.

Ok thanks, so I suppose 5.60 include all the 5.51 bug fixes.
Which kind of deeper features. I noticed AI in 5.60 have parameter labels but what else ?

A lot of other stuff. You can always visit the changelog within Reaper (when you open the About window).

Clicking on notes (left pane) now set's location according to upper time-line.
Should generate a sound of the chosen pitch.
