Default FR - Media Explorer - Skip silence when playing back

Some library managers have a very useful feature where the silence at the start of files is skipped when playing back, so you get to the 'meat' of a file when navigating, rather than playing back from the absolute start.

I was just trying to find a 'riser' type sound and you have to endure listening to seconds of fade in before you really hear anything. It makes browsing through large libraries a real pain, especially for those of us working in sound design not music. Many sound libraries have annoying silence at the start of the files, even my own stuff has when there are long pre-tails on sounds.

Ideally playback would skip to the first part of the file that breaches a user defined threshold, that way we can tailor it. A tiny fade in would be beneficial, to avoid any clicks.

Thanks!

I've recently been facing issues due to the absence of a 'skip silence' feature in the Media Explorer settings. My extensive database contains a significant number of audio files that start with a period of silence. This results in the need for frequent mouse clicks to bypass the silence, making the default operation for previewing sound resources quite inconvenient. It seems we all need a 'skip silence' function.

This would be great for MIDI too!
Quite a few MIDI files (even professional ones) can often have many empty measures before/after the actual MIDI information which they've been exported incorrectly.

What should be a 8-16 bar loop might be over 100-bars long, mostly silence which has another side effect of making it difficult to see the MIDI information without tedious zooming as it's all small and squished in a mostly empty preview display.
