Default PC will not power off with 2 x Quantums connected

Before I shutdown my computer I turn off the both Quantums using the front power buttons…I then shut down my pc. The issue is my PC won’t power off. I have to press and hold the computer power button to power off. When I reboot and just power the master Quantum on and leave the slave Quantum off, do some work….then turn off the master Quantum and shut down the computer shuts down and powers off.

It’s like the daisy chained quantum is preventing the pc powering off in shutdown. I need help as I’m out of ideas…it’s incredibly annoying to have to hold my power button down on the PC to power it off…I have lastest bios and latest build of windows 11 pro.

So to summarise.
1:Master Quantum powered on then powered off PC shuts down and powers off.
2:Both Quantums powered on then powered off PC shuts down but does NOT power off

I’ve tried turning the slave off first then the master…I’ve tried turning off the master first then the slave before shutdown and the pc won’t power off…The only time I get expected shutdown and computer power off behaviour is when only a single quantum the master is powered on after a reboot.

Thanks

I would think this is the best method. The OS will properly unload the drivers and disconnect as it is shutting down, then the user can power off the interfaces.

It may be that the order you are doing it in is leaving the OS hanging and wondering where the Quantams have disappeared too.
It likely has some type of outstanding IO request that isn't being answered. I would imagine the OS should eventually time this out and shutdown anyway but regardless, powering the interfaces of post shutdown is the right way.

PC shuts down OK if I leave both Quantums powered…The power lights turn red then I power off the Quantums…

Thanks for the input. I didn’t think to do it this way…
