Default Reatune for instruments?

Just wondering if anybody has tried Reatune on a guitar track. I ran across an old track of a friend of mine playing on a an out of tune crappy guitar. Wondering if it might be worth a try.

Unless the recording contains just a single guitar string sounding at a time, it's not going to work. (The ReaTune pitch detection algorithm only works for musically monophonic material.)

That's what I thought. He's playing mostly chords but does a short solo.
Might play with the solo just for experience with Reatune.

If the guitar is in tune with itself, you could use Reapitch to adjust the whole recording with a single setting. Put it just before Reatune in the Fx, then use the Tuner mode, watching for pitch while adjusting Reapitch up or down by cents, until most notes land on a center pitch in the tuner.

It might help to double click the tuner to float its window.

Interesting idea. I wonder if slowing the playback rate (with pitch maintained of course) might make this easier?

Assuming the part is intrinsically in tune, you could also adjust the item tuning. Even split it into smaller items if needed. I do that a lot on if it only needs tuning in a few small areas. I often use ReaTune to estimate the tuning gap (by expanding the vertical scale) but tune the item itself.
