Default Undo makes all files go offline

OSX 10.9.4, Reaper 5.70

I only use Reaper to drive 2 vinyl cutting lathes, so it's really just arranging files and routing. Really don't do any editing per se on Reaper any more. Whenever I undo anything - all the files become 'offline'. I can open a project, click once, then files are gone. All files are in the proper directory; when I go re-open the project, all files are present.

Thanks,

Jon

Is reaper loading an undo history from the last save? Are you undoing into that history? If you view the undo history window and make a screen capture (using licecap for example) of the whole thing that might be helpful to shed some light on this.

Hey Justin - I think it is a problem w the undo file. I've seen messages come up saying undo file is corrupted or something similar. Will dig in when I get in the studio later today. Thanks, J

ok. I came in this am, booted the system, opened a project, edited - and undo worked just fine. No problems whatsoever. Then I thought about when this thing happens, and I realized the workflow is different when the problem appears. I can reproduce it each time I do the following:

a. Open a project
b. Delete all the audio
c. drag new audio in from a dropbox folder (I use dropbox for my clients to transfer source files to me)
d. save project 'as' new project name, copying all media to directory.
e. do anything - then undo, files are offline, even though they are in the project directory

note: if I save before editing, save works fine. When I reopen the project, files are there. As soon as I do an undo, they're gone again....but again, if I close without saving this time, then reopen again, it does revert back to the original saved state and the files are there.

Undo file looks fine. Seems like some kinda file pointer gets fouled up when sourcing from dropbox?

Ah, yeah, if you save-as with copy, then undo, it'll try to load the media from the old (dropbox) files...
