Auto Turn off Sustain Pedal CC? (Notes ring out on stop)

CURRENT BEHAVIOR:

Press play in vst piano section that includes sustain pedal messages

Press stop while a note is being held via sustain

OUTCOME:

Piano acts as if sustain pedal is continually being held down until it receives a new sustain pedal message. Notes all ring out, including last note in the MIDI editor

DESIRED BEHAVIOR:

I press stop on the transport and the Sustain pedal stops also. Notes do not ring out indefinitely.

Is there any way to achieve this? I can't imagine that the current behavior would be of use to anyone. Thanks all!

ps. I tried searching for this first, but could not find the answer. Maybe I was searching for the wrong terms.

There are options for MIDI CC resetting in Preferences->Audio->Playback.

Wonderful! Thanks for always chiming in with clear answers for so many queries. It's been really helpful as I adjust to this DAW. It's amazing, but I would have given up had it not been for this forum (and you).
