Default MIDI note snap question -- FEATURE REAQUEST

Have a thing that's not making sense to me, and I can't find information on it, so I turn to the forum once again.

I'm trying to snap my MIDI notes to media items and it's just not working. MIDI notes are wanting to snap to the grid, which I don't want them to do. In my Snap Settings I only have "Media Items" and "Cursor" selected, which is working for the audio items just fine, but not for MIDI notes. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

***Edit: changed name to feature request because if this doesn't exist it should...if it does, please just let me know what I'm doing wrong.

***Edit: does not exist, created feature request, scroll down for link.

In case it helps to clarify, this project was not recorded to click, so the media items I want to snap to are the only reference points that matter to me in this case. I still haven't had any luck. If this is a case of RTFM, just let me know, any direction will help.

Again, audio items are snapping to each other, MIDI notes not snapping to audio/media items.

I've watched more videos on MIDI editing in Reaper...no closer to a solution to this but it seems so basic, hence the post in newbieland. Here's an example. I'm trying to get the note to snap to the item:

The actions Xenakios/SWS: Trim/untrim item left (or right) edge to cursor might be useful for this.

@Stella645 thanks for the suggestion, unfortunately that action doesn't work for this, also the action "Edit: Trim left edge of note to edit cursor" doesn't work either...

This seems like a bug? I'm going to make a feature request and see what I get there.

Huh.....I would swear I got that to work on note starts or ends before I posted.

But definitely not working now!

in the past I've used this custom action for aligning midi notes to a sliced drum performance

Custom: move note to edit cursor
Edit: Cut
Edit: Paste

optionally add this if you don't like the cursor to move after pasting
Navigate: Move edit cursor to start of selected events
