Do you want to give a few more details? You're probably doing something wrong but without knowing what you've recorded, what FXs are giving you trouble, how exactly you are inserting them on the tracks or how you are setting them up it's not easy to guess what.

Every fx doesn't change my recording, I've tried dragging the fx onto the recording I've tried everything I can think of and haven't found a YouTube video that fits it, it works for everyone else.. I've recorded off of my computer the main thing for it

Are you trying to use audio fx on a MIDI take? That doesn't work if the instrument plugin making the sounds isn't also inserted as a take fx before the audio fx.

Yeah, gif/video would be welcomed to understand the issue.

Let's start with the question of what you call an FX and EXACTLY which ones you have tried. There are many thousands of FX in existence and I know for a fact that you haven't tried every single one of them.

Have you tried clicking on the track's FX button and selecting the FX you want to add that way? That's how it's normally done.

My money says you've likely nailed it here.

Hi and welcome to the forums. You would be better off watching the free tutorial videos at reaper.fm.

These are done by top producer Kenny Gioia and are really good.

The firsat ones will give you hel[p and guidance on how to set Reaper up properly with your hardware but also how the FX work.

And of course keep asking questions, there are no dumb ones!

It would help if you told us what OS (Mac or Windows ) you are using and of course what you use as an audio/MIDI interface.
