Default LICEcap 1.25 beta is up

http://www.landoleet.org/ has it, code is also in the git repository. New in 1.25:
  • Optional GIF transparency support -- in some instances this can mean resulting files are significantly smaller. I don't believe this mode makes .gifs that work well with older IE versions, though.
  • LICEcap will remember the title between instances (rather than reverting to "Title").
  • You can configure LICEcap to auto-stop after X seconds. X=0 produces a single image. (aka Screenshot with optional title).

Yes, thanks. I'm glad to see this is still being developed. I only recently discovered it - very cool/handy tool.

Thanks! This is a great tool and I'm sure it helps make you job easier to understand what users are saying.

The biggest thing I'd like to see would be an option to upload the image to Stashbox (or imgur) and copy the image URL to the clipboard.

Another thing I'd like to see is the ability to assign which key pauses recording. My clumsy hands can't get to Ctrl Alt P fast enough so I just click on Stop .

Btw, I think Imgur has a 2MB(?) limit for animated gifs which could create errors for some auto-uploads. I'm not sure on Stashbox...

Thanks

I kinda like postimg myself.

The Win Desktop app is pretty awesome too. Quite a few LICEcap feature ideas could be gleaned from it

if an integrated stash upload could be done it would be nice if it would use Theora ogg files and a HTML5 code to embed in the forum. Here we are in 2014 still using gif files although I understand the compatibility and usability of gif files.

Thank you very much! My favorite app now, gonna licecap all day long

Justin, how about possibility to use unicode font(s) for the Title Frame? It's impossible writing non-Latin based text at all but sometimes it is very necessary

Cheers, Justin.

Can you please add an always-on-top pin? It would make setting up a scene (moving multiple windows around) a bit easier.

Not sure how significant this observation is to most, but Licecap seems to work fine on Mac PPC. Tried the beta3 today on my G5 and I believe, with some editing and sound effects, I may have a blockbuster on my hands.

Thanks Justin!

This is a very handy tool indeed. I use it so much to send simple guides/tutorials on my colleaques in my company.

Fast, easy, to-the-point!

Thanks X-Raym. I already use AlwaysOnTopMaker for Windows, but think it would be a useful feature to add.

All the best,
Dax.

I don't think so, but you can probably import the Licecap video into Reaper then add audio that way. Just don't call your film "Star Wars," cause I think that name has already been taken.

Yes I know I can do that but it takes time to sync both sound and image.

Feature request:
"Follow mouse cursor" -option for the recording region.

Thanks for this great tool!

Yeah, that's a great idea. Now sure how the 'threshold' for when to move would work, but it's a good idea.

Perhaps if the frame/window had an edge threshold, it would move when the mouse got to ~20-80 pixels from the capture area's inside edge?

Here's an AutoHotKey "emulation":

(It keeps the LICEcap window at mouse cursor)

This would be a nice feature

Very cool SPK, can you share the .ahk?

For Justin: would you consider adding another feature to delay the start of the recording?
