In what way does it color? I don't think that's its intended use.

synthmaker should take bootsy's plugins and have them professionally coded as real VST/AU/Dx/JS/RTAS/TDM's and then put the synthmaker logo on it.

then everyones problems would be solved.

i say this because synthmaker plugins cause gripes as-is, but it would be a great promotional tool to offer such optimization to the most successful plugin developers.

then the synthmaker devs can sell these professionally optimized plugins next to izotope and waves. It would sell more synthmaker licenses, because only registered users are eligible for such a contest. also it could offer motivation and stimulus to the vst field in general. more freeware, more experimental software.

Yes, they are. But who cares as long as they work good. As good as many other purchase (and sometimes costly) pluggos out there. I don't have any performance issues with them other than VCS.

SynthMaker is not good or bad itself, nor C++ coded plugs are meant to be any better or worse than SM ones. Developer abilities is what makes a real difference whatever they use, and IMO it's thoroughly proved that Bootsy is a good one.

Just check it by yourself. Add the time align section only and pass some audio through it without any parameters alteration. Bypass it and see the difference. It might be ok if you like the color. I've used it intentionally a few times, but when you want the sound unaltered only aligned, better use Audiocation Phase or PhaseBug instead.

I'm not hearing it. I must have useless ears.

Main diff your gonna see with SM plugs and SE plugs are the CPU. C++ owns synthmaker,SE in this area. Other than some minor graphical errors once and awhile, still the same ole stuff under the hood. Obviously doing it in C++ is a bunch more time consuming etc, and for someone that is doing this for a hobby, it may not be worth it. I completely understand that.

Good to know. Thanks Rob.

BTW, what about your pluggos! Will be released at any time soon? I'm eager to try them. The descriptions make them look promising.

Ack, I thought I read on Booty's page a blurb about it not being SM? I suppose that explains the graphics glitching.

Is there a "known" VST setting that SM/SE plugins should be using, is this a "buggy compatibility mode" situation with Density II?

My understanding is that there is alot of custom code in bootsies plugs (which is why they sound so good) but it is all compiled by synthmaker. So the end result is that it is subject to SM bugs.

I think the best practice with SM is to run them as a dedicated process.

Anyone is having troubles with PreFix denormaling? I haven't issues when I tested it before but I'm using it a lot in an album I'm currently mixing and it denormals like crazy. Thankfully Normalizer cures it.

So take care of your CPU spikes with PreFix and Nasty VCS. No problems here with the rest of the suite whatsoever.

when you get as famous as bootsy at programming plugins, the public is going to want industry standard, highly optimized plugs, and even pay for them.
