Default Reaper & CPU

Hi,

I'm a newbie. Does Reaper use less CPU power and ram compared to Pro Tools?

Thank you for your help and sorry if this is a dumb question.

Hi and welcome to the forums, especially since my full last name is Scanlon-Carling!

First thought from me is why not just download Reaper and try it for 60 days free?

Assuming you decide to do that, you might also want to download the free User Guide nd check out the masses of excellent free video tutorials.
All these can be found on reaper.fm.

My experience with Pro Tools is limited so I cant tell you anything much about relative resource usage efficiency, but the general consensus seems to be that Reaper uses less of both in a like-for-like scenario.

Have fun!

well if you have a 1.5 gig cpu it might use half and if you have a 3 gig cpu it might use one quarter. Get it?
