Default Transition - cool free Midi generator

I just found this program, Transition, yesterday so I don't know if anyone has mentioned it before.

It generates Midi based on the collision of bots moving in a grid. It's almost like a game in which you prepare your bots with various bits of logic and then let them create Midi.

It's can be very easy or you can go very deep with it. It's fun, it's free, so if you enjoy this kind of thing, check it out:

(BTW it's Windows only)

Great find! Thanks.

And thanks for the video!

I've been getting into MIDI generators recently, and this looks like fun.

Cool. Reminds me of Koan X from SSEYO many many moons ago.

If you are into generative music then there looks like good things to come here - Brian Eno can't be all wrong!!!

Indeed if you like generative music Intermorphic's Wotja is definitely worth having a look at. Even the free version can do a fair amount, certainly enough to give you an idea of what you might achieve.

It wasn't originally available on Windows but it's so good I didn't really mind having to buy an IPad to try it.
