Default Video Processing OSX vs Windows [Frustration lvl 100%]

I don't know if it's a bug or feature...

Reaper can't handle videos on Windows 10 (Reaper ver. 5.78)

On OSX (ver. 5.78) if I import and start working with video it runs butter smooth...
however the same process is impossible to replicate on Windows 10.

I used the same video on both projects:
Video: 1280x720@23.98fps, Aspect=1.00, Decoding format=I420/YV12
Audio: 48000Hz 2ch 32bps
Using Quicktime decoder (bridged)

Every time I start to preview the video on Windows it's just gonna freeze after few seconds. (only if video preview is on)

I have very powerful PC with SSD drive and I have enough space on it but still it dose not help the situation...

Tried many different options of Buffering... checking/unchecking "Request sample rate", "Request block size" and many more...

wasted so much time on a simple task =\ first time I was truly disappointed in Reaper...

Now I have to transfer that project on my 2016 mac... that handles video faster than PC build in 2018...

You should try to use vlc or ffmpeg decoders instead of quicktime.

VLC 64-bit v2.X will make reaper run great with video.

vitalker & Jon thank you so much!

That is funny and stupid at the same time... =\
Yes, problem got fixed by installing 2.2.0 vlc legacy version.... my previous version was 2.2.8.... that's why I was 100% sure that the problem was not in the codec, since I got my vlc installed.

Devs should make some info about possible issues with new vlc versions.... you can't even imagine! I legit spend 2 hours of my time trying to solve this trivial issue before posting it here.

still very angry about it... but at least I can work on my PC now.

Thank you once again guys! <3

I'll see if I can get a better shot of it if I still have that one... Thanks for the kind words! Both of those look absolutely *nothing* like the model (models?)
