I have a working LAME encoder in Reaper 64bit. I just downloaded whatever version I got from the link that Reaper 64bit offered (from in Reaper) when it didn't find one. Check it out.

Better yet, I threw the dll into my Dropbox folder. here is the link for that. And don't worry, it really is the 64bit lame dll, not a virus!!

Post back, if you can. I am curious if I am just lucky or maybe this one will work for others. It is only the 64bit lame encoder, not the 32. I will leave it in my Dropbox so other people can find it if they can't find it anywhere else. Cheers!

no idea about reaper compatibility yet
I've tested the x64 command line, and it works fine.
Many thanks for sharing the link.

But the non-command line version is still not working, at least not for me. Back to the older version.....

Try importing your wave file into Audacity and encoding your mp3 from there. That works fine

Or just use Foobar2000 and encode them from there

Ok, I've just run into this problem, What's the latest on LAME for x64? All the above links, even richies, are dead!

If Reaper has no usable lame encoders installed, when you try to render an mp3 you should get the message saying that you need to download and install lame. In that message is a link that brings you to a working version. I will remove mine and test this and get back to ya!

It totally worked here. HERE is the site that the Reaper link brought me to. If that link is broken for you, it is due to some issue in your area, it worked from the Reaper link and when I just tried the link I just posted. Heck, I'll even upload the lame dll to Dropbox, but you'll have to trust me that I am giving you a virus-free dll......

It is such a rare occasion for me to render an mp3, so I forget to even check that I have an updated lame encoder, so thank you too for reminding me!

That's exactly why it took so long for me to run into this particular problem.

It took me a while to find it, since I was Googling "empytree" and not finding anything......
