Agreed. I'll just vote for the scrolling.

I was just looking for the mixer scrolling option yesterday, I was very surprised to see it doesn't exist.

Voted.

Airon's idea is an awesome extra.

Just wanted to bump this again. On macbook pro, and not being able to scroll the mixer view with swiping is really putting a damper on the reaper experience.

I totally agree with the horizontal scrolling request.

But also I think it needs to be added, that the scrolling in it self has to be more smooth. The way it is now, it sort of jumps making it very hard to control.

i absolutely agree with the above. also i find it totally unintuitive to have horizontal scrolling scroll in the arrange view whilst vertical scroll zooms? to me it's a real pain, i'd much rather have zoom functions on the keyboard. i guess the reaper way of fixing this would be to add scrolling to the mouse modifiers.

i really recommend justin or schwa buy one of those apple trackpads and just try using it with reaper, it's totally obvious that it's unusable. you cannot scroll in the arrange view without unintentionally zooming or vice versa.

it's not like you'd have to use such a device, but hey, it works fine with the other daws.

Yes - true to the above - it's kinda fiddly to use a trackpad. Also +1 to the "please also make the scrolling less jumpy" request

We had a poll on this, and to my own surprise, most people preferred the zoom over the vertical scroll for the mouse wheel.

Since this is easy to change, nobody complained(well) about it after that, until now .

There a page of prefs for multi-touch devices. I would disable multi-touch zoom there.

Use Opt+mousewheel for "View:Zoom horizontally (MIDI CC relative/mousewheel)"

use the action filter to show only "mousewheel"

I'm still new to Reaper, so maybe I'm missing something, but has this still not been resolved 6 years later?

If It hasn't happpened for 6 years there has to be a logical reason, because it's a logical petition. So, +1 .... but it won't happen.

I bought a couple of Korg Nanokontrols. 4 different scenes, each one covering 9 faders in the mixer. Works for me and even less faffing around than a scroller.

Sometimes you just have to be pragmatic.
One of these days Justin and/or Schwa may gt around to implementing this, but at least I have a very workable setup which cost me less than the price of Reaper to set up. around forty UK pounds for both Nanos!

If only mixer view would scroll to the OSC device selected track/bank. This would make things a lot easier with external controllers.

Ahem!(blush) just remembered that whilst the NanoKontols DO highlight and scroll to whichever bank I have selected, they dont do the same in the mixer view!

There again I seldom have more than a dozen faders left when its time to do mixdowns. Hence it has never occurred to me to try it before.

Default Seriously???

Just came across that this most basic behavior is absent after so many years. I run LARGE media templates and need to scroll across lots of channels quick. Basic behavior in Cubase. Come on Justin, kick these DAW's asses into the ground and clean up these basic functions!!!

Cannot vote anymore but hopefully we will see proper horizontal scrolling in the MCP someday.
