Default New Song - Counted

Hey folks,

this is a new one, I have been busy with since April. It was the last two or three weeks, that I decided, what direction this piece could go in the end. Influences were some "Drum'n'Bass" and ultimately one good old german "Krautrock" Track, that I listenend over and over in the last time ("Hallogallo" from german Band "Neu!").

What do you think about the mix?

Greetz,
Sampo

Hi Sampo, I think the mix is pretty good and I like the basic concept of the tune, it sparked my attention right away. I think the background instruments were a little buried though, the lead was a litte hot in perspective.

The problem for me, you basically had one direction, all though I've got to admit I didn't listen to the whole thing as a whole. If you had other chords and dimensions it would have been a lot more interesting.

I loved the sound of the lead instrument, was that the "Krautrock"?

5 and a half minutes of basically the same groove over and over is a bit much.

I like the direction your going, the sound of the drums and the bass which is kind of funky, they sound good. For me It just needs more chords and directions and it would be better.

Hi Tod, thanks for taking the time to listen. Originally I didn't intend to make any chord or groove changes. But maybe I change my mind and build in something like a bridge at some point in order to loosen the track up a bit.

The lead instrument was a sinewave synth with some delay and chorus on it. And concerning "Krautrock" - this is the term for German rock music of the late 60s and the early 70s. Some bands, i. e. Can or Neu! were looking for alternatives instead of the usual influences of American or British music and tried an own approach, partially experimental. I don't want to lecture you, but you asked for Krautrock ;-)

Ha ha, I should have looked at the word a little closer, of course, kraut rock. Very interesting how it was derived.

Thanks grandmogul.
