# Theme: set folderdepth for envcp context
# VST3: upgrade to SDK 3.6.7 (should hopefully have no change in function)
jumping ahead so many version numbers is going to make users scared.
If we're tweaking ReaTune, please consider the mouse zoom and scroll commands. They should match the user's arrange view settings or else have it's own custom shortcuts. It's very difficult to go back and forth when zoom and scroll are different. I'm a big fan of ReaTune otherwise.
Really interesting and good ideas in this pre. Will test later today

One nitpick about the spectal edit though: when you first insert the edit box, its top is aligned with the top of the item, and if you try to grab it with the mouse, it grabs the item's volume handle instead (if you're using the handle setting instead of a knob in Prefs->Appearance->Media->Item volume control). This is counterintuitive to me at least; the edit box should take priority. I can always grab the volume handle outside of the box.

And I have one more thing to add to that. When I apply a Take Volume envelope, it ends up right between the spectro and peak view, it's quite unhandy there and I would prefer it be in the middle of the peak view.
Hi.., in media item properties when i change the elastic pitch to 'rubber band library - time domain smoothing' then click apply, when i press play the channel the stretched media item is in mutes and says automated..?.

Here I started getting loud pops/clicks at the beginning of the media file when that option was enabled. (A bit different each time when starting playback.)

Same here.
Exciting to have this in though devs! Thanks!

Couldn't get this to work here yet. It sounds like it's going to allow a musician in the studio to adjust the receives going to a track in reaper?
If that's the case that's amazing and will save a hell of a lot of money for studios if they can just get the band members to use their phones/tablets for headphone mixes!
+ Pitch shifters: support loading extrashifter.dll/.dylib for developers
This sounds cool. Any examples of uses for this?

3rd party time/pitch algorithms. Currently none are available but maybe eventually...
hopefully! fingers crossed on that one!

I can't be more agree with this point. I am a great fan of reatune too and YES! go from reatune to a normal project and viceversa is a mess due to the Zoom issue. so +1 for that.

Reason: Bad english!
With spectral editing, you can now draw any shape you want on them!
That might have been in there for ages but maybe I missed it, anyway. That's awesome! Thanks

Nice work on undo...
However undoing envelope point selections is STILL broken! Preferences->General->Undo settings, include selection [x] envelope point does nothing whatsoever - undo points do get created, but upon undo, envelope point selection is NOT reverted!

Yeah it seems to be a bug/feature of that setting, for whatever reason...
Would it be possible to improve spectrogram display when zoomed out? For example, show maximum level within the timerange under each pixel, similar to normal peak waveforms.
Current spectrogram zooming can be a bit confusing:
Pretty awesome. Would that in theory allow implementing, say, Paulstretch as a native Reaper function? :P
Probably yes, but unfortunately at the moment there isn't enough documentation on how to create the extrashifter.dll and also there's the problem the settings data for the shifter needs to fit into 16 bits. (That's right, not even 16 bytes, but 16 bits.) The PaulStretch algorithm really would need more settings data available...

I think you'd find that if you did that you'd have just as useless a display of information as the current implementation (which seems to be averaging colour, hence the total black as that's 99.9% of the pixel at that point).

It looks like the current implementation is not averaging color. It looks like it is showing sparse periodic samples of the full spectrogram when zooming out.
Here is another example:
If you would want to use spectrogram to visually find some short noises (for example clicks or clipping) in a long recording, you would have to zoom in and manually scroll through the whole recording. It would be much easier to locate the noises if the zoomed out spectrogram would show maximum level within the timerange under each pixel. Maybe that could be added as an option in "Peaks Display Settings".
Thanks for the spectral editing improvements Justin. I've had my studio torn apart all day for some rearrangements but I intend to test this out tonight.
