envelope colors, selection for splitting two tracks simultaneously

are there any settings that make this easier ... as things are now it is sometimes difficult to determine when the two tracks are both selected, and toooo much clicking then finding that one or the other tracks wasn't selected, then redo and redo. If I could get the envelopes to be two different col0rs instead of three that might help. thx
