Not really... REAPER updates are very frequent and incremental. Bugs get fixed all the time along with general improvements and new features. Sometimes new bugs or issues appears. Your mileage may* vary but usually the latest is best.
If an older version works better than a new one in some specific scenarios, it's probably a bug that can be fixed anyway.
