Default MIDI record broken: Input Quantize and PDC don't play well together

Not much to reproduce this one.

Arm the track for recording, make sure Preserve PDC delayed monitoring in recorded items is turned on, set your MIDI input quantize settings to taste and go record some MIDI

Once finished, notes won't be quantized directly to grid but offset slightly by PDC delay.

Would love to hear a confirmation I'm not the only one experiencing this. This is recording after all, you don't want to mess this up - I'm trying to devise a proper workaround, but no luck for now.

I saw this when you first posted it and thought about replying but then I thought I'm probably missing something. But since noone replied yet:

My thoughts were isn't that actually the purpose of this option when it's turned on, to preserve the PDC.
Or another way, couldn't you simply switch it off when you want the notes hard quantised to grid.

But yeah, what am I missing?

PDC is perserved because you're monitoring MIDI through REAPER. So you want that turned on at all times if you're working in the box.

But when you turn on auto-quantize, you want recorded MIDI to fall exactly on beat and PDC should fall out of the equation here. I can't see the logic in current solution and I can see many electronic musicians scratching their heads on why is their quantized MIDI not exactly on beat.

I did too and then I got back. Too many strong points for my use cases I'm afraid. REAPER was a young DAW until now to be honest. I think it's finally getting to that mature phase. Or maybe I matured, lol...but lets not go off topic. Thank you for bumping this bug report!
