Mute envelope not affected by option "Do not process muted tracks"

Hi,
I'm currently dealing with let's call it some sort of mastering project for me and my bandmates.
I'm struggling with the lack of CPU power because of the multiple instances of the same effects on each track.

There is the option that muted tracks do not take CPU time (it's actually enabled) which seems to do the trick if I mute and unmute the tracks manually. I tried to automatically mute the tracks via mute envelopes but this doesn't take the option "Do not process muted tracks" into into account.

Is this intended behaviour? Currently I'm using marker actions which does trick but is a bit inconvenitent and static.
