Default Requiring attention of the powers but no work by them

but would help the forum users and the Reaper supporters a lot.

That is why I offtopicshingly post it here.

We desperately need subforums called (similar to) "Reaper Live and Embedded" and "Reaper Control Surface Support".

I am notoriously active in the forum with these topics and it's frustrating to see than many users fail to find the appropriate threads holding the information they seek and erroneously post in bad places (mostly "Feature Request".

Recently, the "Ambisonic" subforum was created. I feel that this issue is a lot less frequently discussed than the two I mentioned.

Thanks for listening !

Geoffs CSI extension regulary falls off the first page, but it’s by far the most important project we have for controller support, and it’s one of many. Reaper support for the Control24. Klinkes damn plugin is somewhere, so let’s bring that in. Faderport anyone ? Where is that ? OSC configs and Lemur/TouchOSC projects, where are those ?

Controller support is a strong part of the community, less so from Cockos itself, so bringing it all together so the maximum number if users can get to these projects is a good idea, right ?

I have similar feelings about a “post production & game sound” section.

Small question: What do you mean with "embedded" in this case, Michael?

To me, as a techie, "Enbedded" means "software programmed into an appliance". Is that what you mean?

Haven't seen much of that around on the forum, but I would welcome it, as my thoughts have been drifting in that direction lately.

"Embedded" to me means kind of "invisible and realtime - and very reliable". Regarding Reaper this means "not using the program's GUI other then for configuration".

The primary reason for me to use Reaper was to create a Live setup for playing with my keyboards, similar to what a Muse Receptor had been. "On Stage" I use this system in a mode technically called "headless" i.e. without a monitor, mouse and computer keyboard attached. Here Reaper works as a kind of embedded software.

Moreover a friend of mine (with some support by myself) created several other projects where Reaper works in an automated "embedded" way, partly being remote controlled by other software he wrote. E.g. a system for automated light and sound sequence for Theater or Museum use, a system automatically recording (on pressing a hardware "start" and "stop" button), mixing and uploading the result on a website.

Thanks, Michael.

That is more or less what I suspected

I'm trying something like it. A headless box with just I/O, remote control via Reaper's web interface. Probably will be finished sometime next century...

What exactly is the problem you are facing ?

(My friend did the remote controlling of Reaper not via Reaper Web interface but via Beyond. Seems to work great.)

Thanks for the offer, Michael. The problem is mainly a lack of time...

And, atm the third Macbook pro in a row that decides to eat it's SATA cable. But these are old...
