Default Setting bit depth?? Need help fast

Hey it's urgent, I need to set my bit depth from 24bit to 16 bit but I cant find any options to do so in either reaper nor my interface (rme babyface) settings..... Recording in just a bit need some quick help... :/

Just FYI: If you're recording audio and the reason you need 16 bit is to deliver the final recording in that reduced portable format... Record the audio at 24 bit and do all production/processing at 24 bit. Reduce it to 16 bit as the final step.

16 bit is only "hi-fi" under controlled conditions (and it's still a noticeable compromise for portability). 24 bit lets you work and captures full dynamic range.

Shouldn't Bit Depth be a setting on the audio interface's A/D rather than the DAW's?
