Agree!
I just check the native version and some small features are interesting but currently it forces you to have large track height to see anything so fxlist is still the thing, at least for me.

Maybe u can use the native version with " auto enlarge track height on selected track " Script ?
to me that is good enough to wrk with

This script is cool but I tried it and it's not fitting my way of working.
I usually like all my tracks to be the same size except special tracks like video track, note track, etc…
What I like with fxlist is the ability to see every visible track FX chains not mainly the selected one.

I don't know if it's really something with fxlist but I had a few crashes today and fxlist appeared in every crash log.
Do you see something strange doppelganger?

This is really great! Thanks.
Now I don't see how I could have worked without it for two years?
One thing, though... the "DOPP: Show fxlist window" toggle does not remember its state. Every time I start Reaper I have to run that action to toggle the fxlist on. Is it just me?
W7x64/Reaper v6.12/x64.
EDIT: Also, the "Tag top folders" is not remembered. Can it be?

Another thing...
This FXlist is a great productivity boost! Thanks for this.
However, there is a slightly annoying thing when clicking an FX to open it; the FX opens not always in the same place as from where it was closed. It seems to work fine on my main monitor, but not if I move the FX over to the second monitor where I have Reaper's main window. Then, the next time I click FXlist to open the FX, it opens on the other monitor.
If I open the FX by right-clicking the FX button and choosing teh FX from teh menu there, then it opens where it was last when it was closed, but not so when opened from FXlist.
There is something with calculating the screen coordinates that FXlist seems to not do correctly with multiple screens (at least not here with my setup).
Reaper v6.1/x64 portable, on W7x64pro.
A 19 seconds movie to show this is here: https://chalmersuniversity.box.com/s...7c6vmnt7ag.mp4
(For unknown reasons the video plays upside-down in VLC, but OK in Reaper)

Hi Doppelganger!
I was overwhelmed by work so I couldn't mention it before but the crashes are still there and I think I identified when exactly it can happen.
Basically there is 50% chance Reaper crash when we leave a project, be it by closing a tab, switching a tab or quitting Reaper.
So right now I close fxlist if I'm about to encounter one of these scenarios but sometimes I forget and Reaper crashes.
Here is a crash log, maybe that could help?

If you need me to test anything on Mac, let me know!
Cheers!

I should also mention that I think the problem is here for a long time but I just didn't identified fxlist as the cause of the crashes.

Hi Doppelganger!
So I did some extensive tests and the results are quite surprising.
First, your last build without the loudness metering fixes it! No more crashes. So there is something there…
Now here is how to reproduce at 100% chance the crash (at least on my system, specs at the end of the post)
- Project A have a plugin from the compagnies NATIVE INSTRUMENTS or MELDA PRODUCTION with (it's essential to crash) its UI opened.
- Switch to project B
- Close project B so Reaper is switching back to project A
- Crash
I tested a lot of others plugin brands but it only crashes with these 2 brands.
I use their plugins in basically every projects so it's why Reaper was crashing that much for me.
Do you have any idea where this could come? Pretty strange, isn't it?
My specs:
MacBook Pro mid 2012 with 10.4.5 Mojave
Reaper 6.11.60

Hi Doppelganger, thank you so much for your amazing script. For me it is a totally a game changer, the best improvement in reaper! Only one small thing, i was wondering if it is possible to change the behaviour of the sends: from -inf to -36 db takes ages dragging with the mouse to arrive to zero. After -36 db gets totally quick.
Thank you in advance!

update:
• set volume slider sensitivity in controls window

The fxlist is truly a production boost, thanks for this! And the top folder tagging is very useful; with a single click I can switch between viewing just the vocals folder and all the tracks.
One thing, though... when when resetting to full view, fxlist does not check the original visibility of the tracks, but sets all tracks to display in both the MCP and TCP (except for the Master track).
Can this be fixed? So that the track visibility in the MCP and TCP are the same after showing top folders as before showing the top folders.
Thanks.

I just wish that I could dock it on the right side of the tracklist and it could be nice if we could drag and drop fx from there to items/mixer and the original tcp as well.

Reaper's TCP FX list doesn't exist yet, so it's not quite deprecated.
But yes, once it's done its rounds in the prereleases (however many months that takes), eventually Reaper will get it's own version of this.

I think your plugin is far from deprecated. As I can see from pre builds, the TCP fx list isnt good as yours. Unless they create something better. It's far from ideal.

Hi doppelganger. Can't reach to you via private messages, I have a question:
How to get rid of this when I do "Synchronize Packages"?

Wonderful slick implementation!
One remark, it's maybe impossible by design but is it possible to dissociate the fx chain & sends/receives columns?
That way we could only scroll the fx chain and still see the routing infos.

Is it possible to have 2 columns of inserts?

Very interesting extension I just stumbled upon!
I am wondering, would it be possible to make this work when using an output other than stereo 1/2?
I normally work on outputs 3/4 and the audio doesn't get through in that case.
Also I would really love if in a future version it was possible in the mouse options to assign the right click to FX Bypass (and have the context menu on another combination). Or at least a button to toggle FX on/off, not having to shift-click them.

Anyone else getting crashes from fxlist...?
Since Reaper v6.17x64 on W7x64 whenever I click a plugin in the fxlist Reaper crashes. I noticed it first time for v6.18, so I went back to v6.17 but it happens also there.
I run a portable install and have never had problems with fxlist before. Looking at the crash reports I always see two of them, a few seconds apart:
Code:
Faulting application name: reaper.exe, version: 6.1.8.0, time stamp: 0x5fc6b478
Faulting module name: unknown, version: 0.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x00000000
Exception code: 0xc0000005
Fault offset: 0x0000000000000000
Faulting process id: 0xbd4
Faulting application start time: 0x01d6cc028ffcd3b4
Faulting application path: P:\Reaper6\reaper.exe
Faulting module path: unknown
Report Id: e92410c7-37f5-11eb-bbc2-20cf301f3c44
And then 3-4 seconds later:
Code:
Faulting application name: reaper.exe, version: 6.1.8.0, time stamp: 0x5fc6b478
Faulting module name: unknown, version: 0.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x00000000
Exception code: 0xc000041d
Fault offset: 0x0000000000000000
Faulting process id: 0xbd4
Faulting application start time: 0x01d6cc028ffcd3b4
Faulting application path: P:\Reaper6\reaper.exe
Faulting module path: unknown
Report Id: eb7b01dd-37f5-11eb-bbc2-20cf301f3c44
From what I can gather, it seems to be a null pointer violation maybe related to some callback function.
Anyone have any idea?

I started having problems recently with Reaper crashing and the crash log indicated reaper_dopp.dll. Re-installing the latest reaper_dopp.dll seems to have cured it. Something to try perhaps.

Ah! Thanks.
The new version seems to have solved the problems with crashing.
Unfortunately, it created a new problem; now the fx windows open on the wrong monitor. Even if I move the fx window to the big screen before closing it, the next time that same fx window opens again on the wrong monitor. This did not work this way with the previous version of fxlist...
EDIT: And even more... fxlist now messes with Reaper's idea of where to open the floating fx window. If I go into the FX window of a track, and double click an FX there to open its floating window, and I then move that window to the monitor where I want it, Reaper remembers this and opens the floating window in the correct place the next time. However, if I click Doppelganger's fxlist to open teh floating window of the FX, it opens on the wrong monitor, and the next time I open the floating window from the FX window, Reaper now opens the floating window on the wrong monitor. So fxlist resets the coordinates of the floating window for Reaper. Can this be fixed somehow...?

Does anyone know a workaround or a fix for this... And with this, I mean the fact that the latest version of fxlist does not remember the floating FX window position, so for me it always opens the floating FX window on the wrong screen, even if I manually drag the window to the other screen before closing it.
It seems to remember correctly the y-coordinate but not the x-coordinate.
If I open the FX floating window by double clicking in the track FX dialog, and thus bypassing fxlist, Reaper shows that it remembers the window position correctly. So it is definitely fxlist that behaves incorrectly here. This used to work...
EDIT: Experimenting a bit. Irrespective of where on the second screen I put the FX floating window before closing it, when it is opened by fxlist the x-coordinate is always 729, which is on the first screen.

It works normally to me..
Is this plugin in bridge mode? Maybe it has something to do with floating windows..
