A track's plugins' states aren't saved when the proejct is saved

I have a project file that has one track that doesn't save its plugin settings when I save the project. It's driving me nuts. How do I troubleshoot this?

I find this behavior to be plugin related. Swap another plugin to the same slot and see how that behaves.

It's a good habit to, when you find a setting you like, to save it as a preset instead of having it sit in the track as an edited setting. Shouldn't make a difference, but once in a blue moon it does. I have one that stays put when using a saved setting but after one tweak defaults to 100 wet (plugin's, not Reaper knob) when project is reopened, though all other parameters stay in place.


I had an awful time with Black Rooster plugins doing this in a major way. The Edelweiss EQ acts like it's been hit with a hammer every time the project is reopened. Replace it with another eq and everything is normal. So I tend to think, though not conclusively, that there's no Reaper bug here.

Right click the plugin in fx browser and see if you have minimal undo ticked. There's a global setting for this with more info in prefs/plugins/compatibility.
