HELP: move item position independently
All i want to do, is be able left click on an item and drag to from left to right without the other items changing position. for some reason, when i click an item and drag it to the left, everything in the same track is dragged with it. this is becoming very bothersome and im certain there must be a way to change it. please help!

It sounds like you have "Ripple Edit" on. The circled image has it disabled.

Do these included the new stuff in Reaper V4? I think there really should be some tutorials of all the new cool features and stuff!

I have plans for exactly that. But the current videos on the site and DVD are still fully relevant with v4.

Lol.. it was inspired by another thread. A guy was wondering how to get a similar layout to whats on the main sites screenshot. The answer is custom dockers and screensets.

Jonny,
Just watched your vid on screensets.(Reaper v 4)
Many thanks, I found this invaluable. Nicely done-- clearly explained and good quality pix.
One question: I noticed when you hit the save button and the window appears, the last box is left unchecked(last focus)what is this and should it be checked?
Many thanks

I haven't tried using that.. I would suspect that if you save something set with "Last focus" it will have that window/docker contents selected when you load up the screen set.
I'm not sure where this would be mission critical.. maybe if you have a Virtual Keyboard screen set or something ( ie. press record and then press F# and it will have the virtual keyboard selected)
But like i said I haven't tested it.

I am an almost exclusively MIDI user. I wish this would be made more prominent here..
Hello Jonny.
You are doing a great job here.
However, I (and likely many others here) am a MIDI user (about 90% of my work).
I am under the impression that Reaper neglects the MIDI side of things. Could you, please, do some cutting-edge MIDI tutorials ? I am especially interested in piano roll and inplace editor techniques, advanced VSTi automation and general workflow with Virtual Instruments / Effects... and the focus must be on Reaper Ver. 4 by now, I think.

A quick question.....I got a notice that the MIDI video is forthcoming, and would like to know if it covers V3 or V4? I am not using V4 because there are too many quirks for me...

Lol.. Midi DVD will be in V4.
It will cover 3 different genres which are MIDI heavy for production.
It will also include methods on how to create a good "hook" for each genre.
More info to come soon.
Pre-Order with Raffle coming soon too ;-)

#Update 12/9/11
--------------------
Hello everyone!
Quite a few people expressed interest in having the ability to download my Youtube videos for offline usage. Well now you can!
I recently setup a way for Tutorials For Reaper fans to purchase a bundle of all 28 videos for only $19.99.
They are the same videos as Youtube…
Why would you buy these?
1. You have a studio or computer that is offline only and you want a collection of videos you can always have on hand.
2. You want to help support Tutorials For Reaper so we can continue.
3. You are in a foreign country that doesn’t allow Youtube.
4. You have a need to collect things.
We now offer an offline Bundle!
Purchase Videos 1-28 Here for only $19.99
Each video will be posted separately as well for only $0.99 each!
Thanks for the support!

Sounds like Lower Broad in Nashville. The whole downtown area is unrecognisable from when I left in 91/92. They have gussied the place up and also rebuilt the Ryman, plus the new concert hall I would have killed for in the eighties.
Prolly only used for "Alice's performing poodles on ice" though....
